what are your outside of work interests
I have many interests outside of work. I enjoy reading, watching old “classic” movies, keeping up to date with various tv series’, going to the pub on a Wednesday evening to play pool and chew-the-fat with close friends, country outings, gardening, bargain hunting, eating out, marathon gaming sessions on my PS3, listening to music, spending time with my 5 month old daughter and the list goes on. I am not a very sporty person, I tend to give any strenuous activity as wide a birth as possible, but I love nothing more than getting my partner and our dog Cleo into the car and going on a mini-adventure for the day.
what are the most demanding parts of your role
In this profession your work is never complete. However hard you work or how much you get done there is a continuous stream of tasks to pursue, conduct and deliver. I would say the most demanding part of my role is managing, prioritizing and “making the most” of the time I have in the working day.

What is your perfect weekend?
Not waking up before 1pm, watching the Arsenal, Dinner with the missus (only if Arsenal win) and then partaking in the drinking of a lot of lager. Waking up Sunday hangover free to find out I have won the lottery, spending the day taking it easy and having a good old home made roast dinner. Lovely Jubbly!!

I have a 15 year background in Insurance and Financial Services and I have covered a wide range of areas from liability to pensions to farm insurance. I also did a 3 year stint working for a mobile phone company and still find myself helping people with their phones years later!
Top 3 interests?
I am a huge rugby & cricket fan (although being Scottish I seldom get to see my teams win much!) and I am a well watched film buff – unfortunately there aren't enough hours in the day to watch everything I would like.
Most demanding part of your role?
General insurance is in a very fast moving market and a great deal of my time is taken up with keeping on top of the shifts in cover and prices offered by the insurers we deal with, and in the wider market. I have to ensure that my client's best interests are looked after as part of this, and while this is hard work, this is also very satisfying.
